Who can join?

As stated in the "Organization Info" section, to join, any/all family members regardless of age has only to submit proof that their Confederate ancestor was in prison at Point Lookout. What you send is what will be used on your ancestor page(s) in our Archives. Send as much as you like, as long as it pertains only to imprisonment. This can be copies (8.5" x 11" ltr. size. only) of their pension records, excerpts from diaries/letters, when they were mentioned in books/magazines, oaths of allegiance, muster sheets, membership into a UCV camp, etc. We strongly encourage a copy of a picture of your ancestor to be placed on your ancestor’s page in the PLPOW Archive book. The ancestor can be grandfather, uncle, or cousin; just as long as the ancestor is blood related to the applicant. When available please send a picture or copy of same, of yourself in Confederate attire for our members Picture Album.

How much does it cost to join?

The price to join is $20.00 per year. For those who had more than one ancestor at Point Lookout, supplementals can be obtained for $5.00 each, which includes another certificate. Only supplementals can acquire additional stars on your POW ribbon.
